St John’s Seminary has one of the largest and most comprehensive theological libraries in England. There are around 30,000 volumes covering theology, moral theology, scripture, spirituality, pastoral theology, catechesis, liturgy, church history, patristics, canon law, philosophy, other Christian denominations, other religions, psychology and social sciences. There is a large reference section and a collection of secular novels and subjects of interest. As well as books, the library subscribes to a number of periodicals and has a substantial collection of back issues.
The library catalogue and issuing system are computerised. The library is available to all staff and students at the Seminary, and a small additional lending library is available for the use of non-resident students.
The librarian is Fr Stephen Dingley.
